Volunteer Center Annual Events Each year, the Volunteer Awards presented by Wisconsin Public Service Foundation celebrate the often-unsung people who do so much for others in our area. There are many stories of kindness and compassion, from humble acts of service to leaders spearheading large-scale efforts — all of these make a difference. The Volunteer Center of Brown County is proud to honor those who selflessly give of their time and talents to help improve our community. Award amounts are $1,000 for recipients and $500 for the runners-up, which is donated to the nonprofit organization of their choice. Youth awards are in the form of scholarships. The 2026 event will be held on April 23 at the Swan Club in De Pere. This fun event assists us in helping thousands of people in the Brown County area during the year, through the volunteers we enlist and the non-profits we partner with. We are grateful to those who help improve our community, and we thank all our golfers, sponsors, volunteers, and supporters who make it possible! To learn more about the 2026 event, click here. Annual Community-Wide Volunteer Expos Attendees discover ways to help serve their community and find volunteer opportunities that are just right for them. Area nonprofits can get the word out about their organizations and their volunteer needs. This is one of the many ways we build connection between nonprofit organizations and potential volunteers and, in doing so, strengthen our community! In 2025, our 8th Annual Volunteer Expo took place on September 16 at the Stadium View Banquet Hall in Green Bay. To learn more, click here. In 2026, our 2nd Annual Spring Volunteer Expo took place on April 7 at The Automobile Gallery & Event Center. Learn more here. Rake Up Green Bay This fall event (formerly called Make a Difference Day) now focuses solely on raking, and it assists area community members who need our help the most. The initiative targets those in our neighborhoods who are unable to do this seasonal task for a variety of reasons. Individuals and teams of people come together to rake leaves, helping folks remain independent in their homes and keeping our community beautiful! In 2025, Rake Up Green Bay service dates ran from October 18-November 23. For more information, click here.
