Volunteer Center Annual Events The 2022 Wisconsin Public Service Volunteer Awards were held in-person on April 21 at the KI Center in downtown Green Bay, and, as always, we celebrated the often-unsung people who do so much for others in our area. There are so many stories of kindness and compassion, from humble acts of service to leaders spearheading large-scale efforts — all of these make a difference. The Volunteer Center of Brown County is proud to honor those who selflessly give of their time and talents to help improve our community. Award amounts are $1,000 for recipients and $500 for the runners-up, which is donated to the nonprofit organization of their choice. Youth awards are in the form of scholarships. This fun event assists us in helping thousands of people in the Brown County area during the year, through the volunteers we enlist and the non-profits we partner with. We are grateful to those who help improve our community, and we thank all our golfers, sponsors, volunteers, and supporters who make it possible! To learn more about the 2022 event, click here. Annual Community-Wide Volunteer Expo Attendees can discover ways to help serve their community and find volunteer opportunities that are just right for them. Area nonprofits can get the word out about their volunteer needs. In 2021, it was held on September 23 in downtown Green Bay. Over 300 individuals were able to meet with many local nonprofit organizations who were just waiting to talk with them about how they can strengthen our community by volunteering! Each year, hundreds of people join together and help senior citizens and others who need assistance with seasonal tasks to prepare for the upcoming winter months. Teams of people come together to rake leaves, wash windows, clean gardens and put away yard furniture. You and the Volunteer Center — making a difference in our area! In 2021, Make A Difference Day was on October 23. For more information, click here.
