Volunteer Center Annual Events

The 2022 Wisconsin Public Service Volunteer Awards were held in-person on April 21 at the KI Center in downtown Green Bay, and, as always, we celebrated the often-unsung people who do so much for others in our area. There are so many stories of kindness and compassion, from humble acts of service to leaders spearheading large-scale efforts — all of these make a difference.

The Volunteer Center of Brown County is proud to honor those who selflessly give of their time and talents to help improve our community. Award amounts are $1,000 for recipients and $500 for the runners-up, which is donated to the nonprofit organization of their choice. Youth awards are in the form of scholarships.

Volunteer Center of Brown County’s Annual Golf Classic

Through funds raised at the annual Golf Classic, the Volunteer Center of Brown County is able to continue our mission of “creating a stronger community by engaging volunteers to support nonprofit partners.” In 2022, it took place on July 11, at Royal Scot Golf Club in New Franken.

2022 Golf Outing - golfers and carts

This fun event assists us in helping thousands of people in the Brown County area during the year, through the volunteers we enlist and the non-profits we partner with. We are grateful to those who help improve our community, and we thank all our golfers, sponsors, volunteers, and supporters who make it possible!

Attendees discover ways to help serve their community and find volunteer opportunities that are just right for them. Area nonprofits can get the word out about their organizations and their volunteer needs. In 2022, our 5th Annual Volunteer Expo was held on September 20 at the Resch Expo in Green Bay. Local nonprofit organizations provided information to potential volunteers about how they can strengthen our community by sharing their time and talents! To learn more, click here.

Rake Up Green Bay

This fall event (formerly called Make a Difference Day) now focuses solely on raking and will assist area community members who need our help the most. The initiative targets those in our neighborhoods who are unable to do this seasonal task for a variety of reasons. Individuals and teams of people will come together to rake leaves, helping folks remain independent in their homes and keeping our community beautiful!

In 2022, Rake Up Green Bay service dates will run October 17-November 11. For more information, click here.
